Senior Services from Springwell
This week Fr. Jeremy met with two people from Springwell, a corporation that coordinates services for senior citizens. Springwell serves eight towns, including Newton, Watertown and Brookline. Springwell might be able to help us find a volunteer or advocate to help at the Deaf Senior Wellness Program. They will also help us find presenters for the program.
We discussed the various other organizations that help seniors, as well as the challenges of mobility and the MBTA's "The Ride" program. We also discussed the various needs of Deaf seniors. We are planning to have a speaker come to our meeting in November. She will inform us of the different support services that are available.
