Good People,
What a beautiful 1st Communion we had last week. So many people cooperated so well. That shows the power of community that the Sacrament of Communion gives us. The Spirit seem to be setting up things as well at the sandwich shop down the street. Sandwich Works is run by a wonderful Catholic Family and they did a fund raiser by opening last Sunday special just for us. They served a pancake breakfast and the profits where a gift to us! Many people where there all morning before and after the various Masses at Sacred Heart. Many were inspired by this families generosity to make donations to help support this fundraising effort. What a sign of God's love. I am at a loss for words. God is so good.
We also have great news from India. Fr. Kadavil, who runs a school for the deaf and who we have been trying to help, sent a fax with the following message. "Greating to you in Jesus and Mary, the Mother of God.
With a grateful heart I remember you and all you goodness and charity for me. I am always grateful to you.
I arrived here safely on May 22nd. We reopened the school today after our summer holidays. Our children are doing very well in their studies.
I bought 2 buffaloes for milk, made the gas plant for the kitchen and did some repairing works.
Please convey my greetings to you parents and dear friends.
Wishing all the best in His Holy Name,
Most gratefully and loving in Jesus and Mary,
Fr. Joseph Kadavil CMI"
This is a tribute to you all. Thank you for your prayers and help for Fr. Kadavil's students.
Today we give our heartfelt thanks to Br. Hugh. He will be going away from us to complete his last year of studies before being ordained a priest. His quiet, humble, consistent, effective, and loving service has been more then I could have ever hoped for. What a living example of the Gospel! What a good son of St. Francis's way of preaching with one's everyday life. I know that the good he peace he has brought to us will continue to unfold and bear fruit for years to come.
Glory to God in the highest.
Sincerely,
Fr. St. Martin
